The Story of NomadDog NI

NomadDog NI is a small self-made business founded by myself Jamie-Lee Culbert from Antrim, Northern Ireland.

I have Cystic Fibrosis and the idea for my company came to me after a period of ill health and an extended hospital stay. I was unable to work for a period of time and needed something to fill my days whilst at home on bed rest. My first thought was this was the perfect opportunity to create a job doing something I had a passion for that came natural to me.. animals! I've been successfully running and enjoying my business since February 2016!

I am now firstly a mother but I am also an avid animal lover and owner. I have owned many pets from childhood including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, tortoises, reptiles and insects! I donate what I can to human and animal charities alike. I participate in raising money, volunteering and giving advice on what I can.

The company originally started life named Homeward Bound Pet Supplies, owing to my favourite childhood movie. But as myself and the company mature, I want a name that reflects the soul of owner and company. The name NomadDog NI was conceived from my love of travel. I love camping, cycling, hiking and travelling and all of which I love to bring my dogs along!

I feel life is too short to stand still. Anyone who knows me will know Nomad would describe me well! Always moving from place to place. Exploring and discovering my own self and the world around me. Meeting new people and experiencing new things!

This business saved my life! It give me a reason to push onward and to keep going when life was tough. It give me a purpose before my son came along and if it wasn't for this business I don't honestly know where I would be today!
